GFA Food Ministry Process

Matthew 5:16 KJV "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father with is in heaven."

In April 2009, it came to the church's attention from a close neighbor in the southern Alamance County area, that there was a great need for food for struggling families.

GFA began by seeing this need in our local community and asking church members to supply that need.  They were able to donate enough food to fill fifty bags.  Each bag supplied breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

With God's blessing, our food ministry will provide emergency food support for our local community. With an increase in the number of families in need, this ministry will be there for families throughout the year while sharing the gospel message with them.

God has sent us a "Gift From Above" to help our fellow brothers and sisters in need.  We can change lives with the gospel and share God's love.  We can give people the hope, love, faith, and strength that is needed during their times of struggle and hardship.

To be eligible, you must be a resident of Almance or Orange counties in NC.

Contact us by phone at 336.376.LOVE (5693) and we will schedule a time to serve and pray for you.  You will have to provide us with your home address and family member ages in order for us to properly supply your need.

Each bag of food will provide enough groceries for a family to have at least thee meals a day for 5 days based on a nutritionally balanced diet.  Bags would include canned goods, dry goods, and hygiene supplies.  Future plans include frozen foods and dairy products.

Food is distributed on the 3rd Saturday of each month at 10 AM

The church relies on the support of it's members and many different fund raisers throughout the year.  There is also support from local businesses, private monetary donations, and many other churches in Alamance County, NC.
